  2. I am a Zimbabwe citizen who finished my A Levels last year achieving 3 A*s in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. I achieved 7 A*s and 2 As for my Cambridge IGCSE which I wrote in 2017. I have been toying between doing medicine (been offered a place at UCD in Dublin to do it ) or a science degree. I have been offered a place at Cambridge University to do Natural Sciences (Biology) to begin in October 2020. I have done job shadowing at various medical facilities and have been amazed and humbled at the level of dedication and selflessness of the doctors and nurses working under such difficult conditions, limited equipment and with so few supplies etc. I have seen the desperation on parent’s faces as they could not afford the $5 for a blood test for their children or the $2 for a medication. This has given me the desire to be part of a research team to find affordable yet effective treatments for these poor families. I want to make a positive difference to those people around me.
